The XCONS Growth System

Phase 1 — Build

The platform your business runs on — built fast, structured for search from day one, and ready for everything that comes after it. Websites, ecommerce stores and custom software for London businesses.

What this phase solves

Most websites are built to launch, not to work

A website gets signed off when it looks right. That's the moment most agencies consider the job done.

Six months later you find out what was actually built. The pages load slowly on mobile. There’s no schema markup, so Google can’t tell what the business does. The URL structure makes no sense, so every new page fights the old ones. Nobody installed conversion tracking, so you can’t tell which pages produce enquiries. And when you hire someone to do SEO, they spend the first two months undoing decisions the developer made.

You paid for a website. You didn’t get a foundation.

A build should make everything after it cheaper. That’s the entire point of phase one.

What we build

Five ways to build

What every build includes

The standard, regardless of tier

Technical SEO foundation

Schema markup, clean URL structure, XML sitemap and crawlable architecture from day one.

Speed and Core Web Vitals

Optimised images, minimal scripts and hosting configured for fast loading on mobile connections.

Tracking installed at launch

Analytics, Search Console, conversion tracking and heatmaps configured before the site goes live.

Mobile-first throughout

Designed for phones first, because that's where most of your visitors will arrive.

Accessibility basics

Contrast, alt text, keyboard navigation and semantic markup meeting reasonable modern standards.

Everything in your name

Domain, hosting and all logins registered to you, handed over on completion.

How Build connects to the rest

Why phase one decides what phase two costs

This is the part that separates a build from a website.

Schema and structure mean SEO starts from zero, not minus six weeks.

Most SEO engagements begin with remediation — fixing a URL structure that makes no sense, adding markup that was never there, cutting page weight. When we build the site, none of that work exists.

Tracking installed at launch gives you a baseline.

Analytics, Search Console and call tracking go in before the site goes live, so when phase two starts you can prove what changed. Retrofitting tracking six months later means guessing at where you started.

Forms built properly connect straight to a CRM.

Phase three doesn’t require rebuilding your contact forms, because they were built knowing a CRM was coming.

Clean content structure is what AI systems can read.

Phase two’s AI search work depends on extractable, well-structured content. That’s a build decision, not a content decision.

Who this is for

You probably need this phase if

You have no website, or one you avoid sending to prospects

Your current site is more than three years old and hard to edit

The developer who built it has gone and nobody can change anything

It looks acceptable but loads slowly and converts almost nobody

You're about to invest in SEO or ads on a weak foundation

You probably don’t need this phase if your site is recent, fast, and structured sensibly — in which case we’ll say so, and point you at Phase 2 instead. A free audit will tell you which situation you’re in.

Build questions

Frequently asked

Two to three weeks for a five-page site, three to five weeks for a typical twelve-page business site, and six to eight weeks for larger builds. Custom platforms are scoped individually.

Sometimes, when a client needs to edit pages themselves without a developer. Page builders add weight, so we use them deliberately rather than by default, and optimise around the cost.
